I was called back into town on pastoral business less than 30 minutes after getting home. This case was a spousal abuse thing, and where my church is located, there is no visitation allowed on Wednesday or Thursday. The exception is clergy (or attorney). Clergy can go in as long as we are in the cities "approved list." After visitation, we tried to get the mother bonded out but missed the deadline by six minutes. That meant everyone had to hang around until 3:00 am, and I didn't get to bed until 4:30 am. The alarm went off at 6:35 am so I have gone the whole day on two hours of sleep. I hope everyone else had a better day. I am going to bed now.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Pastor Rick)Thu, 11 Jan 2018 22:57:27 +0000 Re:https://bmeadowsgreen.runboard.com/p1565,from=rss#post1565https://bmeadowsgreen.runboard.com/p1565,from=rss#post1565This car still has 3 years left on its original warranty! I always like the feeling of not making a car payment for a month or so after the car is purchased. I also like it because even on the "as is" deals the dealership will fix minor things for free for about 30 days to make me happy. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Pastor Rick)Tue, 20 Sep 2016 09:34:48 +0000 Re:https://bmeadowsgreen.runboard.com/p1559,from=rss#post1559https://bmeadowsgreen.runboard.com/p1559,from=rss#post1559Thank you! It is little and feels funny. My old car I had driven for 15 years. It died. My mechanic said it had a book value of $300 and a repair would be at least $1200 and would last 4 months. He said he wouldn't do that to me and I should drive it directly to a dealership. He said not to take it home because it was not safe to drive. I felt terrible! However, this new car excitement has helped a lot with my loss.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Susa)Sun, 18 Sep 2016 09:58:51 +0000 Re: Hihttps://bmeadowsgreen.runboard.com/p1556,from=rss#post1556https://bmeadowsgreen.runboard.com/p1556,from=rss#post1556Pretty car. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Pastor Rick)Sat, 17 Sep 2016 22:04:50 +0000 Re:https://bmeadowsgreen.runboard.com/p1555,from=rss#post1555https://bmeadowsgreen.runboard.com/p1555,from=rss#post1555It is too bad your whole yard is not in that grass! For some reason, there was a patch of my yard about the size of a football field, where the grass was only about one foot high and it was the easy field grass (very fine and soft) which is easy to cut. I was tempted to concentrate on that patch instead of making full cuts the length of my yard. Tempted, but in the end, I decided to use it as my "reward" patch because it gives me a small breather between the high field grass patches...nondisclosed_email@example.com (Pastor Rick)Sat, 17 Sep 2016 10:56:57 +0000 Re:https://bmeadowsgreen.runboard.com/p1553,from=rss#post1553https://bmeadowsgreen.runboard.com/p1553,from=rss#post1553Oh, Wow! I think all the kiddos are back in school now so that lessens any chance of their being interested in the mowing. I am thinking about adding a couple of bicycle headlights to my push mower to see if I can get at least a little more mowing time on the days that I do have some free time away from the job and the church.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Pastor Rick)Sat, 17 Sep 2016 10:26:30 +0000 Re: Hihttps://bmeadowsgreen.runboard.com/p1550,from=rss#post1550https://bmeadowsgreen.runboard.com/p1550,from=rss#post1550Oh, no! That is a real problem. I will be glad for you when it is done, but you still need someone to mow regularly. Perhaps you could hunt up one of those neighbor kids? This summer, I lost my mowing/handyman guy. He moved. I ended up hiring a lawn service. It is a real relief. I should not have to worry about them moving. However, I will still need a handyman someday. Ugh.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Susa)Sat, 17 Sep 2016 09:22:59 +0000 Re: Hihttps://bmeadowsgreen.runboard.com/p1549,from=rss#post1549https://bmeadowsgreen.runboard.com/p1549,from=rss#post1549I am really worn out... This summer I hired my nephew to cut the yard at my home and he was doing a good job but his school started two weeks ago and he stopped coming by. There are a couple of kids who also do yard work but PK told them no because Dusty (my nephew) was doing it. My room boarder was going to mow but he has been having problems with his blood pressure medicine and didn't do it. So anyway, I kept waiting and the grass kept growing until I finally decided that if the yard was going to be mowed then I would have to do it myself. The problem, of course, is that with my schedule there are only a couple of days each week with any free time and they only give me a couple of hours to do any mowing before it gets dark! I am working on it but the back half acre has grass that is over four feet tall and my mower only has a 21-inch deck. This makes for slow going. I estimate that after one week of mowing with my free time I have only managed to get one-third of the job done. I am forced to go slow because the grass has gotten so high and that means that something might be hidden in the grass that could damage the mower. At my current pace, it is going to take me three weeks to bring the yard under control!nondisclosed_email@example.com (Pastor Rick)Sat, 17 Sep 2016 08:59:44 +0000 Re:https://bmeadowsgreen.runboard.com/p1525,from=rss#post1525https://bmeadowsgreen.runboard.com/p1525,from=rss#post1525I use Voltaren Emulgel. I just keep it on my grocery list! LOL I wake up, let the dog out.....scoop the litter boxes (with 7 cats I do this 3 times a day)...feed the cats, the let the dog back in and feed her. Then I have my breakfast, and coffee and then catch up on FB and the boards.....then about 10 I call Mom or she calls me and I find out if they need anything done. Most days not. But often enough, I go over and help them do something. I then clean my own place (quietly, as Rog is on calls all day...so everything except vacuuming that gets done on Sat. or Sun.)....then I do my other chores around here. Lately, planting flowers, making sure the irrigation is working properly, doing poop patrol.... Once a week I take Mom out for a "Ladies day out"... Weekends we do our maintenance things around the house, mowing, weed whacking, vacuuming and make dump runs with grass etc. And do any chores that Dad can not handle any more. And I hope online whenever I need a 'back' break...as I'm no longer on any pain pills, so just have to deal. And that is my days.. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Queenyforever)Fri, 15 Apr 2016 08:18:18 +0000 Re: Hihttps://bmeadowsgreen.runboard.com/p1522,from=rss#post1522https://bmeadowsgreen.runboard.com/p1522,from=rss#post1522PK has already gone through 100 lbs of birdseed and the trees have not even come into bloom yet!nondisclosed_email@example.com (Pastor Rick)Thu, 14 Apr 2016 21:34:05 +0000 Re:https://bmeadowsgreen.runboard.com/p1521,from=rss#post1521https://bmeadowsgreen.runboard.com/p1521,from=rss#post1521I am working on the same skin. I have also taken a zillion bird pictures since the weather finally got sunny here, and it takes hours to sort and edit. I also spend a good 4 or 5 hours a day on my message boards a day, and then I squeeze in reading and piano students. I don't know how I ever fit in my full time job and am glad it is gone.
